Finding Happy – Part 2: The Search

I came across a listing that had a cute 3 month old Mountain Curr – Australian Cattle Dog mix named Roxy

The Search

Apparently, I was not the only one looking for a dog during the pandemic. It was nearly impossible to find a puppy from the shelter. Also, I never got any response, and the couple I did turned me down for adoption.

Eventually I looked on websites a friends recommended, and that lead me to “Roxy”

Finding Roxy

Not long after I started searching for dogs for sale, I came across a listing that had a cute 3 month old Mountain Curr – Australian Cattle Dog mix named Roxy. I wasted no time reaching out to the owner, and we arranged and transport for later that week.

  • $700 for Roxy
  • $400 for transport from Ohio to New York

With just a few days before Roxy’s arrival, I started to scramble to get my place ready. There was a rush of anticipation, and relief that I am done with all this searching. This is really happening!

I ended up buying a bunch of things – dog food, leash, collar, crate. Didn’t know what I was doing so I ended up buying everything too big.

I believe the bond between a human and dog is a precious thing. We are blessed to be able to communicate and share our lives together with other creatures on this planet. One of my missions in life is to explore and strengthen the relationship between me and my dog, and hope to bring you dog lovers along with me on this journey.
